"I'll take all the chances I get until you get tired of waiting for your prince charming."

You were hiding under the bathroom sink when he found you…

The good news: it had taken him a while before he could get his hands on you.

The bad new: he had found you wearing barely nothing and now you were scared for what little remnant of privacy you still held would be taken.

Your breath hitched in your throat when you saw his eyes darken dangerously.

               Earlier that night

You sighed in relief as you finally closed the door behind you before kicking off your shoes to free your sore feet from the hold of your new favourite kitten heels. Whoever said kitten heels weren't painful to wear was wrong. After such a long day of walking around running errands for too many people, going to your university classes, going for a quick trip to the supermarket to buy some missing ingredients for tonight's dinner before finally having to sneak away from a stalker in hopes of getting home safe… your feet were killing you. They felt awfully swollen, blood making them pump like there were two little hearts in your feet that were about to faint from exhaustion.

But there you were, nonetheless, standing in your hallway, relishing the feeling of your feet flat on the cool floor of your apartment. After a short moment of pure bliss, you resigned yourself to put away the groceries before heading for a hot bath in hopes it would help you get rid of today's stress as well as replenish your energy; you still had so much homework to do and the sooner it was done, the better your Sunday would be.

You were in the bath, surrounded by the calming hue of candle lights, when you started hearing weird sounds. Nothing too abnormal, you were living in an apartment building after all. Weird sounds coming from the apartments around yours just keep spooking you if your own apartment is too quiet.

Seeing as you couldn't relax because of these odd background knocks and scratches, you decided to fetch your phone for some music, having to get out of the bath and dry yourself seeing as you had left it in the kitchen. You wrapped a towel around you and slipped on a pair of panties -comfort issue- before blowing out all candles -safety issue- and heading out of the bathroom, ready to accomplish your quest to retrieve your phone.

What you hadn't planned was for a dark figure to lurk around your apartment as well.

You felt your heart leaping in your throat when you saw it, slowly making its way into the kitchen. Your hand tightened around your towel as you carefully crouched down, observing the figure walk away. You were lucky you hated leaving all the lights on when you weren't in a certain room and that your apartment's furniture could offer you just enough place to sneak from one room to the other without being seen.

You knew what you had to do: reach your phone without being seen or heard, grab it, hide and call the police. The plan was simple enough, you knew you could do it, but you were so shocked and scared, you were afraid your body wouldn't cooperate with your mind and that you would accidentally screw up.

You blinked. How long had you been staring at the dark figure? How long had you been holding your breath like that? Your heart was beating so loud now, your head was pounding along with it, making your body so tense it hurt to move.

You inhaled slowly, focusing your mind on your first task while your eyes didn't leave the figure's moving shadow. Each step you took, each movement you made was careful, overly calculated so as to not produce any sound. You were in cat ghost mode, just passing by not to be seen nor heard, yet your eyes were fixed on the intruder like a predator's on its prey.

    Phone reached: task 1 accomplished.

Phone in hand: task 2 accomplished.

Now to proceed to task 3: hide.

Seeing the intruder make his way from the kitchen to the hallway, you had to sneak your way into the kitchen, following him. You thought of hiding right here, in the kitchen. Maybe you could fit in the pantry? But then again... there were so many possible white weapons in the kitchen, you didn't want to risk the stranger taking one of them to aggress you.

You waited until the dark figure turned the corner before advancing after him, peeking in the hallway. You saw him look in the bathroom.

Oh no... The bath was still full of water... Now you were sure that he knew you were there, somewhere. You needed to find a hiding spot so you could call the police A.S.A.P.

You took your chance when you saw him turn in your room. For once in your life, you were actually happy you had been too lazy to do your bed in the morning. Now, you had a small amount of time before he would realize that you weren't under the covers. So you quickly made your way back to the bathroom, slipping your body in the cabinet under the sink, making sure you didn't knock over the cleaning supplies you had there.

Finding a hiding spot: task 3 accomplished.

    Final task: call the police.

But how would you do that without having to speak? The apartment was so eerily quiet that you would hear a pin dropping, you couldn't possibly want to talk. Not only it would confirm the intruder that you were there, but you would give away your position.

You stared at the screen of your phone, thinking. The best solution for you would be to text the police. It would be silent and hopefully quick to get a response. But you couldn't do that here in Japan... You groaned inwardly as you kept running your brain for a solution.

It's only when you pressed the button to access your contact that the solution appeared to you. Litteraly. Your fingers made quick work of sending a message to the one and only Aomine Daiki.

After all, since Aomine was in the police force, texting him would be the same as texting the police, right? You just hoped he had his phone with him and that he would answer it.

    You:
    Help!
    Officer Aomine
    I need your help
    Please answer your phone
    Quick!
    Aomine:
    The hell, woman!?

You nearly let out a squeak of relief when you saw his answers coming in.

    Aomine:
Calm down, I'm not even supposed to text on the job like that and you know it.
    You:
    Yes, but it's urgent.
There's an intruder in my apartment.
Please, I need you to get help for me

    Aomine:
    Get a weapon
    Stay hidden
    Be safe

You were about to text him why you couldn't call yourself when his last text came in.

    Aomine:
    I'll be right over.

You looked among your cleaning supplies for a spray, hoping to be able to use it as a make-shift pepper spray if the stranger happened to find you. You opted for the bathroom deodorant, the smell that would stick to your aggressor would give him right away if it could be of any help…

You waited patiently, clutching the spray in one hand and your phone and towel in your other. You trained your ears as you tried to make out where the intruder was. Did he find out that you weren't in your bed yet? Was he searching for you if he did? Did he leave? What did he even want with you anyway?

You took a few deep breaths in attempt to calm your nerves. This whole situation had made you feel even more restless than when you came back home earlier. You could feel your whole body trembling with fear and anticipation, waiting impatiently for the moment you'd hear the police coming in or the moment when you would have to run for your life, only covered by a bath towel…

The minutes stretched longer and longer and you refused to check the time, knowing it was impossible that you had stayed still for an hour already. Your nervousness all made it seem worse than it was, you were sure of that.

You barely hear any footsteps anymore. Maybe he did leave in the end, seeing as he hadn't found you…

    Tap tap tap

Nope. Still there. And he was closing in on your location too.

    Tap tap thump!

Wait, what? What was that thump just now? And why was it so silent all of a sudden? You breathed in and out slowly to calm the erratic beating of your heart.

A few more minutes until the doors of the cabinet swung open, surprising you still. Your wide eyes slowly made their way up the person's legs, clad in dark pants, until your heart sunk at the sight of his quirked brow.

You were hiding under the bathroom sink when he found you after all…

The good new: it had taken him a while before he could get his hands on you.

The bad new: he had found you wearing barely nothing and now you were scared for what little remnant of privacy you still held would be taken.

Your breath hitched in your throat when you saw his eyes darken dangerously.

    You would be damned.

It was none other than your savior, officer Aomine Daiki.

"In the bathroom cabinet with a deodorant spray, seriously?" He snickered, his eyes shamelessly traveling the exposed skin instead of focusing on your face as they should. "And only wearing a towel too… looks to me like you were purposefully searching for trouble."

"I was not!" You retorted quickly as you got out of the cabinet to search for a bathrobe or anything that could help you hide more skin. "What happened with the intruder anyway?"

"Knocked him out cold." He lazily pointed his thumb behind him to an unconscious man lying on the floor.

You gaped at both men, one because you recognized him as your month-old stalker and the other because he seemed totally okay with putting people K.O. (although he did have a good reason this once).

"So~ Aren't you gonna show me your gratitude? For saving your virginity and all?" Aomine's smirk came back in full bloom.

"You mean you want me to show you my boobs and give you my virginity for rescuing me and my aforementioned virginity?" You deadpanned back.

"That's quite the good idea actually. Not what I had in mind but still good."

"What did you have in mind then if it wasn't that?" You eyed him suspiciously. Aomine Daiki not being a pervert? Did he want to provoke the apocalypse or something?

"Forget about my idea, yours is way better anyway." He took a step closer, his smirk never leaving his lips as his eyes stared right back through you.

They were so dark, the usual blue of his irises was so dilated from lust they now reminded you of the midnight sky... So deep, so dark, yet filled with stars and mystery. How could his eyes be so bright when he was close to becoming the personification of Lust?

He took yet another step closer, trapping your body between his and the counter. He was so calm, making your heart dance and the blood rush to your cheek, it was unfair to say the least. You wished you could have the same effect on him, that you could make him blush the way he could, but all you could do really, if you stayed honest with yourself, was making him hard.

But you didn't want that. You didn't want of a one-night stand with Aomine, no matter how much your body was screaming for it. You heart was yearning for more. You often felt somewhat stupid for thinking like that considering the majority of the girls your age had already lost their virginity with a guy they only had a crush on and had broken up sooner or later. However, you couldn't deny that the romantic in you still believed in true love and it made you repel the idea of ending up in bed with someone out of raw desire for their body. You wanted your first partner to love you, not to just fuck you senseless because he thought you were hot.

"You know I'm not gonna do that." Your voice came out soft as you looked down at the candles that were still fuming a little.

"I know." He brought his hand up to your cheek, turning your face to look back at him. "It still amazes me how you never strayed from that."

"And yet you still try your luck" The corner of your lips twitched into a small, almost mocking smile.

"I'll take all the chances I get until you get tired of waiting for your prince charming."

"You just ran to my rescue, can't that be considered as an act a prince charming would do? And you know you're good-looking and being in the police is pretty much the equivalent of being a knight, isn't it? Aren't these all the characteristic of the classic prince charming?"

"Except that I'm not one. I'm either the thief or the murderer of one of your fairy tales."

"The Beast got a curse because he was selfish yet he still found love and Aladdin was a thief, yet, he married the princess nonetheless."

He snickered. "I guess you got a point."

"Cadet Aomine, is the area clear?"  His walkie-talkie suddenly buzzed, interrupting our moment.

Aomine let out a quiet groan and stepped back to a safe distance, leaving your body feeling cold.

"All clear." He quickly replied back. "Here." He turned back his attention to you as he handed you another towel so you could put it over your shoulders.

A few minutes later, he was out, helping his colleague getting the stalker in the car to be arrested. You sighed as you observed him work from your apartment window. Seems you weren't getting your love story today.

You can now read part 2! Enjoy!
I feel really mean for doing this right now but... here's a story..? Lovely Shoujo (Err Drawing Blank) [V3]
Considered I wasn't able to write something like that for a longuer while than I first anticipated, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and i really hope you'll like it...
Oh, and I know there wasn't any 'real action' going on there as my beta reader pointed it out to me (she litteraly wrote "Why the hell was there not even a fricken kiss in that story I'm dying damnit!!! I was like, kiss, fuck, damnit just go out with him already what are you waiting for!?!?!?!?" when she sent back the stories to me with her comments) and it was 100% deliberate. You'll have totrust me on that one.

For the time being, feel free to leave a comment, share your thoughts with me and hit the fav button if you liked! It never fails to make me happy!

I've already read this before creating my DA account, but I'm still impressed by this story. I like the Aomine you describe here, there is a great character development that he might have by going to the police academy. Well done, author-san!

Gladly add it to my favourite Aomine fics. :D
